Active Life Chiropractic: Our Chiropractic Techniques

Within the chiropractic profession there are hundreds of different adjusting techniques that are commonly practiced.  Your Maple Ridge chiropractors at Active Life Chiropractic do not limit themselves to just one technique.  Drs. Wallace and Pajak have become proficient at several techniques to better serve their patients.  They have developed this multi-technique approach through years of professional practice.

Every individual has a different body and a different physiology, so after a thorough assessment, your Maple Ridge chiropractors at Active Life Chiropractic will be able to determine which technique is best for you.  Many of our patients do not get the high velocity “cracking” type adjustment because they are either too apprehensive, or x-rays reveal that they aren't good candidates.  These patients can still experience the benefits of chiropractic with low velocity, low force adjusting techniques.

At Active Life Chiropractic the primary adjusting techniques that we use to provide relief and ongoing health are:

Diversified Technique

We start by identifying which vertebrae have lost their normal motion or position.  We then apply a specific thrust to free up the "stuck" spinal joints.Chiropractic adjusting technique. read more»

Activator Methods®

This system combines spinal evaluation with a handheld adjusting instrument (the Activator.)  It delivers a consistent, low-force thrust, and is a gentler alternative to manual adjustment. read more»

Gonstead

This full-spine approach relies on x-rays and a heat-sensing instrument for a thorough evaluation and documented results.  Adjustments are delivered gently and precisely to the area(s) of misalignment. read more»

Pelvic Blocking:

Treatments using pelvic blocking techniques include the use of cushioned wedges placed under each side of the pelvis along with gentle manoeuvres. This allows gravity and changes in mechanics to draw the disc away from the nerve.  This is also highly effective at treating pelvic unleveling.

If you’ve been to a chiropractor before and prefer to be adjusted in a particular way, let your chiropractor know. We want you to relax, enjoy and fully benefit from your chiropractic care.
