Your First and Second Visit
If you haven't completed your paperwork yet, you should arrive ten minutes early for your first appointment. This will give you time to help your Maple Ridge chiropractors get to know you better. This information is important so that we can decide together how best to treat you.
After your admitting paperwork is completed, we will:
- Get a complete health history.
- Conduct chiropractic, orthopaedic and neurological examinations.
- Take spinal x-rays if needed.
- Perform an sEMG (muscle scan of the spine.)
- Perform a foot analysis and orthotic consult.
- Compile a report of findings.
- Perform a chiropractic adjustment.
You'll also receive an ice-pack compliments of Active Life Chiropractic to use at home.
The purpose of your consultation with the doctor is to discuss your health goals and see if chiropractic is likely to help you. If it looks promising, a thorough examination by our Maple Ridge chiropractors will help identify the cause of your problem.
After we study your health history and our findings, we’ll make recommendations designed to help you get and keep your health. We call this the "Report of Findings". This is usually attended to on your second visit, which may be later the same day or the following day. This two-visit approach accomplishes several things:
- Reduces the length of your first visit
- Gives us time to correlate our findings
- Avoids overloading you with too much information
In certain situations, and in the professional judgment of your chiropractor, we sometimes make exceptions. It just depends on your unique situation.
Regular Visits
After the investment of time needed on the first and second visits, patients sometimes become concerned that every visit will be of equal length. Actually, a typical office visit may require just five to ten minutes. But don’t think the brevity of a regular visit to Active Life Chiropractic lessens its value! With the groundwork laid, we can quickly size up the condition of your spine and nervous system, adjust you and get you on your way.
Like a regular workout at the gym, each visit builds on the ones before. Miss a visit, and you can lose the momentum necessary to make improvements.
Our staff of Maple Ridge chiropractors recognizes your time is valuable. So at Active Life Chiropractic, we do everything possible to run on time and minimize the impact on your busy life.
